The Heart Pillow Project was created to help ease the pain of breast Cancer Patients. The pillow is designed to be placed under the arm to ease pain from the surgical incision and tension along with helping reduce surgical swelling under the arm.
The Heart Pillow Project was discovered in the States at the Erlanger Breast Resource Center, and was brought to the Nordic region by Nancy Friis-Jensen, a nurse at Frederiksberg Hospital. The purpose of this site is to help spread the good word, and help breast cancer patients in Sweden.
How it works
The heart pillow reduces pain from
- Surgical incision pulling and stretching
- Arm and underarm pressure and swelling
- Shoulder tension
- Accidental bumping
It also supports the chest during coughing, it provides comfort and something to hold on to - you are not alone.
